Depnds on where in the body, and what organs were hit.
Shooting in fingers/hands/feet is rarely lethal, head or torso much higher risk.
.22 caliber is 1/5 of an inch – ow.

It depends on different factors – is this at close range? If so, it would depend on deflection of the fragments hitting bones that they could ricochet off of. Also, it depends on what organs are hit and the amount of damage that the particular organ could sustain and still be viable. It also depends on the amount of bleeding that results.
