How does hyperpyrexia cause fevers?

Question by Cid H: How does hyperpyrexia cause fevers?
In relation to yersinia pestis, I’m not sure how hyperpyrexia causes fever. I looked online and the information I got only went around the question instead of answering it (such as ‘hyperpyrexia is caused by amphetamine abuse’ …which doesn’t answer the question.)

i am unsure of your question, but based on how it sounds like, i shall answer to my abilities.

hyperpyrexia IS the medical terminology of the layman word “fever”.
in other words, hyper (high) pyrexia (body temperature)

so if i rephrase your question, “how does hyperpyrexia cause fevers?” it would be “how does fever cause fevers?”

ok, having stated this, i think i have answered your question

BUT! in case it does not, yersinia pestis is a bacteria, which causes infection. with infection, comes fever. (layman’s explaination)

if you want something more detailed, yersinia pestis a Gram-negative facultative anaerobic bipolar-stainingbacillus bacterium belonging to the family Enterobacteriaceae.

Which is the family of bacteria responsible for the “Black Death” that accounted for the death of approximately one-third of the European population in 1347 to 1353
