Question by sdm8675309: How do I help my husband overcome addiction to Pain Meds.?
My husband has been fighting an addiction to Vicodin for about a year. It doesn’t seem to me like he really wants to be sober because he keeps relapsing. He has lost his job, stolen from family and friends, ruined his relationship with his parents, written hot checks, ruined our sex life and is on the verge of losing me. I have nothing left to hang over his head except our kids. I have been giving him at home drug tests and he failed the last one. NA meetings are not working, threats and ultimatums are not working and his love for his wife and kids are not enough to keep him clean. I don’t think he has hit “rock bottom” and every time I think he has, it gets worse. I love him with all my heart but I can’t keep him around the kids and me if he is going to continue to use drugs. Is it hopeless? Should I just give up and file for divorce? I feel like I would be abandoning him, but I don’t want to be co-dependent either. How do I keep my family together without losing my sanity?

take him do rehab or show him the bad things of his addiction or maybe an intervention
