My gf and I have been together for about 1 year. We live together and are talking about marriage. She has an awesome daughter and I love them both. In spite of all the good things in my life, I have a bad addiction. I take about 7 vicodins a day. I’m addicted and my girlfriend has no idea. In fact, no one in my family knows. I want to tell my gf, but I’m afraid that she’ll leave me. In all other aspects of my life, I do well. I have a good job, I’m a full time, straight A, college student, and I’m a good provider. I really want to quit the vicodin. I don’t think I need detox because I was addicted a long time ago and kicked the habit on my own for more than 3 years, but when my mom passed away, I took it really hard and started again. How can I tell my girlfriend that I’m addicted. Can anyone tell me how I can ease her into the bad news. I take full accountability for my stupidity, and I feel very guilty. Thanks.
