This question is for my school project, yet again. I would really appreciate it if you guys would answer it; it would really help me understand things more clearly.

heroin is shot up, or in other words, injected through the use of a needle.
So a heroin user will have whats called track marks which is the scars left on the underside of the arm, the feet, back of the knees..but some sneaky little junkies inject where people cant see! like the eyes, under the tongue, or in an open wound.

The way to prepare useable heroin:
Heroin is activated through heating. You get a spoonful of it, then put a lighter underneath the spoon. This is the process a user takes before sucking up the result into the syringe, and then, injecting it into themselves. So if your friend has a tendancy to light up beneath a spoon full of powder, expect the worse. :S

Its supposed to give the user a feeling thats so incredibly powerful and overwhelming its impossible to explain. a feeling of complete happiness nothing else on earth could ever supply. This is why it is so addictive. and I was told about that feeling, from a heroin user. I could tell from their ecstatic explanation they adore the drug like nothing else on earth. And I could tell that just by talking about it, they wanted it becuase their eyes lit up and glassed over as they spoke of the pleasures it made them feel..

The downfall is the fact the happiness is not everlasting. A heroin user will be agressive and depressed. Why? because after such a happiness the body falls back into its state of ‘normality’ and after a while of use-age, when the body falls back down into its normal state it falls a bit too far into ‘below normal’ and takes an opposite affect from making you happy…it makes you depressed. And the more you use to make yourself happy, the worse the after affect of depression is. it also causes extreme cases of fever and all sorts of things when the person is deprived from their drug. or having what is called, withdrawals.

The user will appear to be extra sweaty, thirsty, and pale.

Note also on a user, or a suspected user, the constriction of the pupils, appearing as tiny pinpoints or small dots. They may also itch themselves rather excessively, and you may notice this because they do it often. it is said they feel as if there is bugs crawling under their skin?

they itch so much becuase theyre trying to get the bugs out..

Sometimes a user will be extra hyperactive, always looking for something to do. Others will transform into a sad, slow, droning dope.

Be suspicious when they no longer eat as much and if they lose weight!
Heroin can cause you to lose ALOT of weight.

If they dont shower much or appear not to, they may be an abuser of illicit substances.
(the distraction of being high can cause one to ‘forget’ to take part in daily routines such as showering.)

Users usually dissapear in the mornings if trying to hide their habits becaue they are beginning the day on a high. maybe they will spend a long time in the bathroom or on a morning walk..

Addicts will vomit frequently, especialy after food.
If they sleep, they sleep alot. usually during the day.
Complete ddicts may seem to not sleep at all..

It can affect ones sex drive. At first they will want alot more sex than usual..then sudenly they may begin to complain of impotency. This is reversable and will be so if one stops using but that will cause depression and until then the once girl crazy male will no longer have the slightest interest in the opposite sex at all.

Apparently I just found out it can also be smoked in ciggarettes, mixed with tobacco. you know, like rolling a joint (weed) but with smack instead. you might find lots of ciggarette butts in a users ashtray smoked right to the butt so they dont ‘waste any’ or lots of matchsticks lying around burnt right down to the end.

ever find a baggie full of powder in their possesion? its drugs.
and aparently heroin looks like brown powder.
I havent seen it before personally. But from all this research anf asking around, I realise I can now explain alot of weird behaviours coming from people I know..so hopefully all this will help you understand now and in the future, how to identify a heroin abuser.
