How can I tell if a friend is doing heroin?

Question by J3254: How can I tell if a friend is doing heroin?
She has admitted to me that she has experimented with it heroin before, but she doesn’t do it regularly. She has become very distant from her family and she has lost about 50 lbs in 4 months. Are these signs that she is still using?

it might not be, but with drugs you can never take the risk. if you have the slightest notion she is continuing through, you need to consult a doctor and get her to a drug rehabilitation center. drugs will ruin her life and all of those around her. help her while you can.

Normally there is not a big weight loss with heroin. You see that more with METH/speed. When she told you she used in the past did she say how she used it- snort, I.V. smoke. Heroin is making a big come back in many places. Is her family aware that she is using? I would tell them. She may be mad at you at first but you may save her life. Also if she told you once that she was using ask her again if she still is. Most heroin users when using a small amount act normal, but once they start using more often nod out when sitting down. Also with the weight loss the other thing she may be doing is “speed balls” where people mix cocaine with Heroin. Don’t wait ask someone to help you with the situation
