So I’ve been talking to this guy for almost 3 months. The only thing is, is that he’s in a halfway house like 100 miles away. So we’ve only been talking on the phone. He thinks I’m in recovery, like he is. But the truth is I’m still drinking. I talked to my drug and alcohol counsler about this and she said I should tell him. Because if I don’t I’m kind of playing him in a way and “false advertising”. I mean it sounds funny. But it’s really not. She’s right. What can I say ?

Hey you know you have to tell him.. I’m in recovery and if it were me I would need to know. You have to realize what kind of risk you’re putting him at. Suppose he suprises yoy and you’re drunk, you have him walking right into danger. You have to respect and understand how important recovery is to us that need it. It’s the only thing that saves our lives. Just be honest or maybe go to meetings yourself to get as look at why we need/ want it so much. No one can push you into it you have to want it and even then it’s not easy to do. If he is someone you really want try getting clean for you and then move forward. But you can’t just do it for him or it wont work. Please give it a try.. Where are you from maybe I can help..
