Question by ricker4087: how can i get help with getting funds to go to an inpatient drug counseling service?
My insurance thru work wont cover an inpatient service. My parents dislike me and wont help. My county of residence wont help cuz they think i make to much money at my job. Im a single father that wants to better my life not only for me but also my son. I need almost 4000.00 to walk in the door. My credit already sucks so i cant get a loan. I have no other ideas on what to do but i know if something doesnt happen soon my son might not have a daddy to raise him. Im scared to death and all i want to do is get better but with everyone turning down my requests for help im soon gona lose everything and possibly my life. Is there any programs or assistance companys out there that actually help the needy? please if anyone knows anything that might help please contact me asap. Email me or even call my cellphone. 1-715-281-9320. my email address is [email protected]. I hope theres someone loving enough out there to help a great person in need. PLEASE I NEED HELP ASAP.

I realize how desperate you are, but Please consider deleting your cellphone number 🙂 Perhaps the local hospital has an inpatient unit and offers charity care to those without insurance or who are underinsured(?) There are some inpatient programs that have funding available though not sure if beds will be available. If you do Not need detox, perhaps for the time being, you can look into an outpatient intensive counseling program at least until a bed opens up in an inpatient for someone who needs help with funding and attending Alcoholics Anonymous (‘open’ meetings if don’t have a drinking problem). Please just be careful with any potential ‘money donors’ from here or other message boards as no one really knows the motivation behind it, know what I mean.

If a patient has a mental illness (anxiety, clinical depression, bipolar, ocd/obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia) in addition to a substance abuse addiction, they may be able to look into a partial care/partial hospitalization program which may (or may not) have funding available. That is a program that takes place during the day from about 9-5p and then the person goes home at night. Most of the partial care programs are for those with a ‘dual diagnosis’, the addiction as well as mental health diagnosis.

Here’s a website to try to help locate a treatment program: http://www.findtreatment.samhsa.gov You may also find places in the yellow pages of the county phonebook(s) under ‘alcoholism’, ‘mental health’, ‘rehabilitation’ and/or ‘drug treatment’.
