Question by Orion: How can i get a copy of Windows Media Center Edition?
I have received the Windows Media Center Edition pre installed in my Toshiba Laptop. Serial number for the software is also received with the laptop. Now my recovery DVD is not working due to some DMI issue. Can i get a copy of Windows Media Center Edition by providing the proof of purchase from Microsoft or is there any ebsite available from where i can download it. I believe i can still use the license key that was provided with the laptop?

I am assuming that you are using windows XP media center edition, correct? well, by common practice you should get one from microsoft, but chances are you wont get it. If i were you i would go to a LOCAL computer shop (meaning not bestbuy) and show them your COA (that stick that has the product key) and they will most likely burn you a current copy of the setup disk. This also goes for vista and 7 but those are not windows media center editions, they just have media center in the versions.
