A childhood friend of mine who I hold very dear wound up a drug addicted prostitute.. We found each other after several years a few months ago while she was living in an inpatient rehab center. She recontacted me again last night and has been clean over a year, has a job, and a few weeks ago got an apartment. Her son just had a birthday and she wants me to meet him. She is very excited, and I am very proud of her. I’m going over in few days to check out her new spot and want to bring her a gift but no idea what.. I was thinking a plant but sheesh. She’s a simple person.. she’s never really had anything so she’s happy with anything which should make it easy but I don’t know. I’m pretty successful and don’t want to come off as better than thou or patronizing..

get her a nice pretty journal from barnes and nobles or somewhat
with a few pens, and a bookmark.
shes probably to be starting her life over again, and i think a diary/journal is the best way to go.
