Yeah, there’s a way!

You need a plan. How many schools are you going to? Which schools are you going to? Call them up and ask them if you could talk to their students. Just jump in with a well-thought-out plan, and do whatever you need to do!

You know what? I am planning to start a non-profit organization too. It’s called Friends Abroad. I will ask a student to send a postcard with their name, mailing address, age, and gender, and match them with another student from a school in a different state of the same gender and within three years of age. Both students will recieve a letter telling of the other student’s state of residence, age, gender, and mailing address, and their on their own from there. I want to send a flyer to schools of every level (including colleges/universities and vocational/trade schools) in every state, and if all goes well, the world.

Keep me posted on yours, I’ll keep you up on mine; I don’t want to have to go this alone (I’m only 18).

Yes, I can give you a general outline. I started a non-profit called The Futbol Project (www.thefutbolproject.org) just last year in California. A couple things.

First, you have to be serious and inspired. It takes alot of work to turn an org into a legitimate 501c3.
Second, it will cost around $ 800 and take anywhere between 9-12 months.
Third, if you are in for the long haul, email me ([email protected]) and I will email you the specific steps on how to become a non-profit at least in California (though each state is a little different).
