Having problems with Ortho Evra Patch – need advice on Natural Family Planning or Natural Birth Control?
Question by ad_astra: Having problems with Ortho Evra Patch – need advice on Natural Family Planning or Natural Birth Control?
I have been on the ortho evra patch for 3 years. I haven’t had too many problems with it except I know I have ovulated at least twice in the last 3 years because I could feel the sharp pain in my side. Other than that, I did ok on it until the last 3-4 months. I have been experiencing a lot of mood swings, depression, anxiety, diarrhea, cramping, dizziness, nausea, low sex drive and have been bleeding heavily for 3 of the last 4 weeks. I wonder if my body is changing and the levels of hormones in the patch just aren’t working for me any more? I have tried other forms of hormonal birth control before such as- ortho triciclen lo, loestrin, both of them I had trouble remembering to take the pill at the same time every day and also had the same issues with emotional health. Anyway, I told my husband today I was tired of pouring chemicals into my body that made me feel terrible. He has told me before he hates condoms…we have only used them a few times when I was on antibiotics. And yeah, they are not great. But I’m wondering, are there any condoms out there that aren’t so bad and feel natural? I also want to hear from any of you ladies your thoughts on Natural Family Planning. I’m not interested so much in “research” or “statistics” I can look that up myself- I just want to hear what real people think about it and what their experience has been, have you had success with it?
