Has your life been affected directly or indirectly by drugs?

Question by Half Drawn Boy: Has your life been affected directly or indirectly by drugs?
After reading the responses in the senior section I am shocked by how often drug abuse is mentioned. It sounds as if towns are being destroyed by the meth trade, families are being torn apart and live’s wasted by an awful habit.

I wont pretend to be a saint. I did smoke a bit of weed when I was in Uni but it saddens me to hear that the problem is so severe! Am I naive by not recognising the widespread effect of drugs in society? Are my parent’s generation(the hippy era) to blame for this sudden increase of drug use or is it a condition in my own generation?
Thats a shame…someone has been reported before I could even read their answer!

Not affected.

Our town seems to be doing just fine.
No drug use in our family, extended family or friends.

My son is a cop and apparently there is some
drug activity in one part of the Village.

A neighbor down the street has had several rehabs.
I don’t really know the family.

I think that just because everyone knows ‘someone’
with a drug problem – that doesn’t make it pervasive.

If I know three hundred people – and one does drugs –
that’s really not much of a percentage
