Group at United Methodist learns how to ‘Take Back the Night’
For years, Lorrie Begue never understood why women stayed in abusive relationships – until she experienced it herself. With the help of family and the Domestic Violence Project Inc., Begue escaped the cycle of emotional, physical and verbal abuse to become a domestic violence survivor. Today, Begue is working toward her bachelor’s degree and her two young daughters are thriving.

The Buccaneers Jr. Drum and Bugle Corps, a program of the Bridgeport Police Activities League , is accepting applications. Membership is open both to accomplished and novice musicians. The corps performs in parades and exhibitions throughout the state.
