Daniel James Gray, 56, was found guilty of capital murder in the Dec. 22, 2005, slaying of 4-year-old Kraig Jenkins in a Jamaica Beach apartment his ex-wfie, Barbara Bawarsky, used to cook methamphetamines. Bawarsky pleaded guilty to a lesser murder charge in her grandson’s death for the possibility of parole. Gray was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. In the video, Judge Wayne J. Mallia of Galveston’s 405th District Court reads the jury’s verdict and sentence. Prosecutor Bill Reed and Tom Stickler, one of Gray’s defense attorneys, comment on the verdict issued Jan. 22, 2010.
