This show was done right after Barbara Harris started CRACK’s Project Prevention. At that time she felt anger towards the addicts asking, “How can you do this to your innocent children?” As the years have passed she now realizes that the addicts don’t want to continue getting pregnant only to deliver and have DSS take their baby away. Typically that leads them deeper into their addiction trying to numb the pain of losing yet another child. Getting addicts on birth control prevents regrets that addicts face if they do manage to get off drugs.
