Editorial: Statewide database will play key role in efforts to slow, reverse prescription-drug abuse
A statewide prescription-drug database is slated to go online by December. Used in dozens of other states, the database is designed to track the purchase of all prescription drugs. More than 0,000 in federal grants and private donations has been obtained to fund the system, though an additional 5,000 is needed by June 2011 to make the database fully operational.
