I wrote this song about my boyfriend who is addicted to EVERY drug out there.. Literally. Shrooms, amphetamine, methamphetamine, weed, and so on… All of them. Hes also addicted to cigarettes and alcohol… Ive tried everything to get him to stop… He just wont… Today I said your hurting yourself and he said im so sick of ppl saying that. So i said, your not stupid despite how much i tease you and say you are. your smart, you know exactly what your doing so why the hell are you doing it?! and he said exactly i know what im doing so ppl need to leave me alone about it. And i said, “thats what scares me.. bye,” I just dont know what to do!! i care about him so much, but you cant save those who dont want to be saved… ive tried everything and its no use… please help mee… please help him… God bless you.

You are a co-dependent as I was for 15 years. I went to Al-anon meetings, he went to AA meetings. I went with him, he lost jobs, he ended up in rehabs, he loved me but he used me. I was his bank, I was his mommy, I provided a roof over his head while he could spend an entire paycheck at an old motel or at somebody’s house doing crack all night. His first problem was drinking and it let to crack. I finally had it after 14 years and left him. Since then he had a stroke, hip problems and lost his only vehicle and his license. He would be living under a bridge but he was successful in getting disability for his “mental” problems and COPD, and other physical ailments. What might have helped him a long time ago was that I should have left him a long time ago, he was stronger then and could have finally depended on himself. I was tired of babysitting him and feeling responsible for him. I still love him as a friend, and I wish I could move to another state so I don’t have to watch him deteriorate and die soon.
