downloading movies/music?

Question by Amazincrazy: downloading movies/music?
Why is it considered acceptable to post queries desiring sites and links to illegally download copyrighted material?

I know it technically isn’t acceptable, but a question related to that seems to more often than not get a “go-ahead”. I’m quite sure that a question like “Where is a good place for me to sell some stolen video cameras and Blu-Ray players?” or “Do you know where I can score some Chalk Dust(Crystal Meth) in the South Philly area?” would be flagged and reported immediately in almost all public forums.

I’m not bashing it or saying they all should be reported, I just don’t get why people don’t mind posting illegal downloading/pirating questions, while other questions pertaining to illegal activity is a big no-no.
Burak: Read the question again. I didn’t say all downloading websites are illegal, what I DID ask about were the sites and links THAT ARE ILLEGAL!!!
david: how is a torrent from a bootlegged version of a copyrighted film that’s still showing in theaters NOT illegal? How is a peer-to-peer site that allows me to get a copyrighted album from another user for free NOT illegal?

Not all movie websites are illegal. There are some services pay for you and allow to watch first x gb for free.
