A Seattle Mariners pitcher was arrested in NY for biting, choking, and giving his wife a black eye. Then in the media(Seattle) police were called last week to his residence for choking his wife. Seattle Mariners opted him to Triple A, and he has asked for “help”.

The same as any corporation. Help somone who wants help, but have an internal policy about whether or not they continue to work while getting that help.
I despise this as much as you do but the fact is that he was arrested and charged, but has not been tried and has not pleaded this charge out and been sentenced. Unless and until that happens, he can’t be released for this.
However, domestic violence is frequently tied directly to substance abuse, including both alcohol and steroids. It’s not just up to a given team, but up to MLB and all sports to develop education programs and policies that deal with both issues, simultaneously.
