Iggy Pop’s song on his heroin addiction “Lust for Life”, which is the theme song to carnival cruise line commercials as well as professional dickwad Jim Rome’s radio show. The name is pleasant, yes, but it has the lyrics “Well I’m just a modern guy/ of course I’ve had it in the ear before” “No more livin’ on the sidewalk” and “Gonna beat my brains/ with liquor and drugs” “he’s gonna do another striptease”
Really goes well with the images of little kids jumping into swimming pools. My question is how come nbdy listened to the whole song?
Also goes for Regan era republicans thinking Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” would make a good theme song and New Jersey thinking “Born to Run” would work good as well ‘oh my god, this song is about sex on a motorcycle!’
