Question by lilrebell: Does anyone know of any place that offers help for families and friends of drug addicts?
My boyfriend of more than 3 years told me yesterday he was addicted to opiates and has been since we’ve been together. I had no idea, he showed no signs and I probably wouldn’t know if he did because I have never done anything. To make a long story short, I took him down to one of the Rehabilitation centers today and he checked in. It just breaks my heart to watch him go through the withdrawals and know he is hurting right now. He was crying when I left and hurting. I just need someone or someplace I can go to talk to someone and get the help I need for when he gets out. We have never spent more than a day apart and we now have to go 8 days without seeing or speaking to each other because he is in the recovery program. I told him it was for the best because I would rather have a healthy happy boyfriend then wonder everyday if it will be his last.
