i have been told that the molecular compound of crack and sugar are very close in make up. alomst one molecule away.

In the fact that they both contain atoms yes, otherwise not so much.

They both have rings, but cocaine has an aromatic ring with a number of carbonyl groups and an amine group. Sucrose has none of those things.
