Question by bhpdcode: does anybody have personal stories of drug addiction?
i have to let my brother go due to his problem, and though it breaks my heart, ive done research and feel this is the action i need to take. so any stories or advice you can share are welcome. what made you use? quit? relapse?quit again? how did you finally get sober? and if you arent there yet, what motivates you to keep trying even if you give in from time to time? im trying to help my brother out and want better understanding. does getting kicked into the streets make it worse? im pretty worn out by this :”C

Yes, addiction can and does wear a family out. Don’t “let him go” completely – take the steps to help yourself by going to Alanon (in the phone book) then by getting your family together to do an intervention so that he can decide if he wants to get help. Watch the TV show “Intervention” it will give you insite from those family members getting worn out, like you described. Here is the intervention website and good luck to you – www.aetv.com/intervention/
