Question by CrazyPoh: Does a spot on lung mean cancer?
My sister had a cat scan 6 months ago and it revealed a .5cm spot on her lower left lung. They said that they were just going to watch it and do another CT scan in 6 months. She went for another one on Friday and the doctor called back early this morning to talk to her but she missed the call so she has to wait till tomorrow to speak to him. Does the fact that he called back so quickly after he getting the test done mean its bad news? The test was done late Friday afternoon and he called 8am Monday morning.

A little background on my sister- she 26 years old, a heavy smoker, and she used drugs heavily in the past but has not used in 4 years. (crack cocaine and pot)

Shes scared to death-could this be lung cancer?

It could, but it’s probably bronchitis, pneumonia or fibrosis.
