I watched intervention the other day- it was about a drunk mom of a 3 year old. The drug specialist said that the fact that she hasn’t quit had nothing to do with her drinking– it’s a “disease”- I don’t believe that.
I understand the complexity of it, but I know that the love of your child, and losing your child should over ride anything- and make you want to get better.
I’m not judging, but I’ve been there- and chosen the better side so I know.
Do you think we allow people to make excuses out of feeling sorry for them?
sorry- I meant “the fact that she can’t quit drinking has nothing to do with the love of her child” is what the interventionalist said…

I know this is hard to believe, but some people are so far gone that they WOULD choose alcohol/drugs over their kids…. if this were a perfect world, there would be no foster homes (most foster kids are there because of drugs….)
