Do you have regular drug checks when you work in a rehab?

Question by Em: Do you have regular drug checks when you work in a rehab?
I realize the irony of this question. I’d love to help people who need and want to be helped, but I like to smoke marijuana every now and then. Does anyone know…do they do random drug checks, announced and regular drug checks, or just an initial test?

It completely would be up to the individual facility and the state you work in. In my state there are no laws regarding mandatory testing. I could work as a nurse in a behavioral health unit that serves those with drug and alcohol dependency, but my hospital does not drug test nurses – even upon hire. They only test if there is reasonable suspicion of on-the-job use / intoxication.
