Do you believe that talking about the dangers of drugs prevents drug experimentation or use in teens?

What exactly helps to prevent your kids/teens from trying or experimenting with dangerous drugs?

Do you believe that talking to them about it will help? Or do you think most kids will do it regardless of what people tell them?

Do you think its a matter of controlling who they hang out with, etc? And if so, is that always reliable considering so many “good” kids fool even their own parents about what they’re doing in secrecy?

I’m just asking in general for opinions…was just watching an drug intervention show and hear so many stories about “good” kids who grow up and start experimenting and suddenly find themselves in a full on addiction.

Thanks!
