Question by Riley: Do they drug test before you enlist in the Air Force?
I am planning on enlisting in the Air Force and am wondering if they drug test you before you enlist. I know they drug test new recruits on the second day of basic training, but I have not heard about testing before basic. I have been an occasional marijuana smoker and am trying to quit, but I have smoked in the last week. I am trying to enlist as soon as possible and I am wondering when the earliest date I can will be.

Yes they will drug test you at MEPS to enlist
You will be drug tested before you ship to basic

If you have done drugs within 45 days of the test it WILL SHOW UP

Then if you fail you won’t enlist for 6 months and you will have to get waivers if they even accept you after failing a drug test
