You fail to see that if marijuana is no longer provided by the black market, it will also stop being a gateway to all the other drugs provided by the black market.

That is how it works, a kid shows up at the dealer and he says, man, I’m out of pot, try this cocaine or heroin instead. I’ll give you your first gram for a great deal, then they keep coming back for more.
