If we all work together we can make the world a better, more enjoyable place! “Laura Neale Was A Real Life Hero After Surviving Being Hit By a Drunk Driver and Surviving the Northridge Earthquake.” Jim Shooter created the “Good Guys” Comic Book series that focused on manifesting the heroic attitudes of young people into real life. He created a contest to find 8 young people to be the role models for the characters in the comic book series. Laura Neale and David Ganong, the first heroes in training, wrote essays why they should be considered heroes. Laura Neale Was chosen out of thousands of entries to the be character FLEX. She proved to be a real hero when the car her and her sister were riding in on the way to school was hit by a drunk driver, at the intersection that was the epicenter for the massive Northridge Earthquake that occurred a few weeks in the future. Laura’s back was horribly broken and it took many hours of surgery to put two steel rods on either side of her spine. The Neale family survived the Northridge Earthquake while Laura was in a body cast and only concerned if her mother, father and sisters were okay during and after the quake. Laura showed heroic strength when she showed up at the kickoff of the “Good Guys” comic book at Mile High Comics in Los Angeles. She was in severe pain from …
