Dangerous maneuver results in car accident
A Paradise teen was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon after he lost control of his vehicle on Clark Road and crashed into some trees. Levi Laster, 19, was driving a GMC pickup down Clark Road at about 1:30 p.m. when he allegedly tried to use the right shoulder near the Paradise Airport turnoff to pass a slower moving vehicle in front of him.

Solvang council unanimously OKs ‘social host’ law

NFL suspends Packers DL Jolly indefinitely
The NFL suspended Green Bay Packers defensive end Johnny Jolly without pay for the upcoming season and perhaps beyond for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Jolly’s suspension begins immediately and will continue through at least the 2010 season. He will be eligible to apply for reinstatement after the Super Bowl.
