Dads/Men…input please…Would you ever…?

have a Dad….well….kinda…. dad is an alcoholic with anger control issues. He is always trying to retaliate at me…only, I can’t figure out what I’ve done to be retaliated at. He is only happy with me if I am totally dependent on him and he can “help” me….like if I am sick, he is in an especially good mood, but once I’m well enough to be independent, we are like strangers until the next time he is angry. He tells me he loves me, but I don’t think he means it because of the way he acts around me when he’s not wanting something. I feel used and alone…all I want is a Dad who will show me what a Dad is supposed to be…

Dads….would you ever do this to your kids? And also…how do you feel about them, do you love them? What do you think of my Dad? What should a Dad be like?

Your Dad is two different men when he drinks.
He should really go to a place that will help him with his
alcoholic and anger. He is not himself.
I am sure he loves you. Can you get someone to speak to
him, or even you when he is not drinking.
Sometimes alcoholics do not even remember what they
said the night before.
Try to get him help. No Dad’s should not act that way.
