Crack Cocaine Addict: Do you think Drug addicts/junkies feel guilty or regretful for every going down that path? I come from a long?

Question by Keisha Tamika: Do you think Drug addicts/junkies feel guilty or regretful for every going down that path? I come from a long?
line of addicts (u name it they done it) but it’s like they are “functional addicts.” I had an ex bf who was addicted to crack cocaine and an ex bff (was a late bloomer) who’s also addicted to crack cocaine. I dont feel sorry for them cause they have arrogant attitudes or think they are so much better than ppl, dont understand or see how. I wanted to be there for my ex bff knowing things would never be the same, my ex bf I still want to be with him but cant jeopardize my life.

I really need an understanding what do they feel about life. Yes, life is hard for all of us or a struggle but what made them give up the fight, and take the sad route out? I wonder do they envy others who isnt livin so devilish, or who was the ppl that put them onto drugs. Why would someone hate themself that much they just destroy themselves. I believe once you are on drugs its a fight to get off and you are never really off you always need to be high to see reality from a delusional perspective.

p.s. when my ex isnt doing drugs he’s taking prescribe drugs for his mental illness how does mental illness plays a part amongst addicts, every one I know who’s addicted take prescibe drugs to cope

I was introduced to cocaine many years ago and picked up a daily addiction very quickly.

For me, when I first starting clubbing at 18 years old is when I see cocaine being used for the first time – around that time, it seems like more people used cocaine than didn’t, naturally, I was very curious what was so popular about this white power and why do many people take it.

I then went home, spending many days reading up about cocaine, in fact, just about almost every common illegal drug.

After reading all the information I was curious to see what the buzz and rush actually felt like, so next time I was out, I had a line with a friend. Most amazing feeling I have ever felt.

While I initially planned I would only take cocaine on weekends and only when I’m clubbing, it doesn’t stick to that. Because the rush and buzz is so amazing you just want that feeling all the time, so you slow begin to pick up an addiction, until you’re taking every, or almost, everyday.

At the same time as being addicted to cocaine I was also curious to try other drugs, so I picked up a regular addiction for amphetamines, ecstasy and cannabis.

Amphetamines, ecstasy have the worst comedown ever, and it is impossible to sleep on, so those only remained on a weekend.

When you’re first in the drug world and have lots of money, you feel like you’ve beat life, when all your money is gone your life is the worst its ever been, now you’re fighting against an addiction with no money – exactly why I quit.

Weighing all the pros and cons of using drugs, I much prefer being sober now. I’ve had my fun with it. Now its time to move on..
