Could i be eligible for unemployment?

Question by Lola: Could i be eligible for unemployment?
My boss has anger issues that i have been dealing with for a long time. When he would get mad he would throw and slam things around even though customers could hear it. One day he got mad at me about a conflict in the department and came to me the next day pulled me aside and claimed he was”too mad to approach me the day before and if i wasn’t pregnant come after me like a rabid dog” Is this a threat? Then i went on maternity leave and returned after my six weeks on fmla. 2 weeks after i returned i was informed that they had to change my status from full time to part time as they couldn’t support more than one full time any longer. When I asked what my hours would be cut to he said he didn’t plan on taking me below 30 but wanted to keep me at 32. 2 weeks after my change of status my hours were down to 26 and HIS FRIEND who he hired to “help” while i was out had more hours than me. I didn’t find that fair i feel it is favoritism? When i asked why my hours had been cut he claimed that I didn’t work “hard enough” or basically at all not as well as the others were the words i believe, but i was never informed he felt this way in fact i had a review the previous week that said I did everything “up to standards” and what i was supposed to do.. I honestly just feel like i was slowly being pushed out the door and picked on until i quit. How would this look to unemployment?

If you are already gone from employment, then at least file for UI and show them the pay stubs to show your hours were reduced. If they determine you were constructively discharged you might be able to collect.

If you have not yet quit, then try to make this work out until you find another job. The economy is tough out there.
