Contra Costa sees modest reductions in crime, FBI report shows
Contra Costa County’s three largest cities showed little overall change in violent crime from 2008 to 2009, according to statistics released Monday by the FBI. The most pronounced increase came in Richmond, where an atypically low homicide total in 2008 preceded a 75 percent surge in 2009, to 47. Richmond’s 2009 total matched that of 2007.
