Claritin-D and drug testing?
Question by Scarlett Hussein, Dirty Liberal: Claritin-D and drug testing?
I recently started taking Claritin D for allergies-I don’t have insurance and seems to be the only thing that works well for me. However, I am currently starting to look for employment. One dose contains 240 mg of pseudoephedrine. Would this show up as a narcotic on a drug test, since it’s the main ingredient in meth? I obviously don’t have a prescription for it, since it’s OTC, and don’t have insurance so I can’t go to the dr. and get one. If it would show up as a positive for narcotics, how long would I have to not take it to not get a positive result? My allergies are really bad and I don’t want to have to stop taking it if I don’t have to.

When drug testing is done, they ask you if you’re taking any meds. Be sure to tell them about the Claritin-D, and you’ll be fine. They’re used to such meds.
