Celebrities that are good examples of why you should not do drugs

Fame and money themselves can act as drugs. But for many movie stars and singers it just isn’t enough. You could be the richest, most famous celebrity on the planet with a fridge full of osetra caviar but fame can be difficult to deal with; the public eye is hardly forgiving. To cope with pain, many stars resort to drug use as a way to escape. Here are a few examples of celebrities who are good examples of why you should not do drugs.

Lindsey Lohan

Kinda obvious, sure, but just take a look at the downward spiral Lohan has gone through since 2004. No question her career peaked with “Mean Girls”, since then Lohan has done one worthwhile movie, “A Prarie Home Companion” and a glut of embarrassing roles that few other actresses would take. She also released two lukewarm received albums of middle-of-the-road pop. One of her latest non-tabloid embarrassments is “Labor Pains,” a movie so bad it was relegated to straight-to-DVD release. Lohan is not a terrible actress, she just doesn’t seem interested in acting. She seems more interested in doing things your parents told you not to.

Gary Busey

You may know him from his roles in “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” or “Lethal Weapon”, Busey is a famously cracked out actor who has little regard for social norms and decorum. Busey was recently on “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” for his addiction to cocaine and pain killers. If you need some great examples of why you should not do drugs, just type “Gary Busey” into YouTube and watch the crazy clips that pop up.

Whitney Houston

A great example of enormous talent being flushed down the toilet along with her hypodermic needles. Houston is arguably one of the 90s most successful and famous African-American singers. A series of bad relationship choices and an addiction to crack, pills and alcohol led to her disappearance from the public eye and her eventual rock bottom. Whitney has recently been cleaning up her act, appearing in an interview with Oprah and talking openly for the first time about her addictions and her struggles, which is a great step towards recovery. Whitney is another example of how difficult fame and money can be and how it is never the answer to life’s problems.
