Celebrities and substance abuse?

Question by Hey…you asked!: Celebrities and substance abuse?
Are there disproportionately more drug addicts and alcoholics among celebrities than the rest of society?
I have heard so many stories about people in the entertainment industry with substance abuse problems that it seems there are more in this sub-culture than in others.
I could very well be wrong though, as being a celebrity also means that your addiction will get more attention.
What do you think?

With encouragement to spend unlimited amounts of bucks and often a very limited education, combined with yes men telling you how gorgeous and talented and desirable your are it’s no wonder!
Also look at young sports figures. Who said youth is wasted on the young?
