CCA Names Director, Addictions Treatment and Behavioral Programs

CCA has named Martin La Barbera as director, Addictions Treatment and Behavioral Programs in the company’s Inmate Programs department. In his role, La Barbera will develop, implement, monitor and guide substance abuse and behavioral programs for inmates at CCA’s more than 60 facilities nationwide.
La Barbera joins CCA with more than 30 years of criminal justice experience. He most recently was a partner in Corrections Research Institute (CRI), a non-profit corrections consulting firm, and previously served with Cornell Companies as managing director for Training and Personnel Development and developer of its Cornell Training Institute. In that role, La Barbera oversaw 30 corporate trainers, providing training to 83 project sites and 4,500 employees nationally.

La Barbera holds a master’s of science degree in administration of justice (with an emphasis in corrections and education administration). He specializes in community corrections, inmate treatment and rehabilitation, organizational leadership and a variety of treatment methods in criminal justice, offender reentry and other related areas. La Barbera’s articles have been featured in technical and professional publications. He is also an experienced conference presenter and curriculum developer.
