Can you break state laws in the name of discipline?

Question by Gina P: Can you break state laws in the name of discipline?
I’m telling you, the laws in the US are GARBAGE. In my state, CALI, it is ILLEGAL to spank even with a HAND. I still use the belt when necessary, although very rarely. For instance my son was suspended for a day from school because he swore at the teacher and I did give him a bare a$ $ spanking with a folded belt. I rarely use violence but some things are just to much. I can only recall two other cases when I spanked my son with a belt, once for stealing and once for throwing dirt at a teacher for which he was also suspended for. Other then that, he is a good kid. In my state it would be considered “child abuse” I really don’t care. Discipline is discipline not abuse and the law has no right to tell me or any parent on how to raise my children
I think that certain “laws” were meant to be broken, I feel this is one of those stupid, dumb laws that nobody follows. In my house, my kids will live by MY laws, not stupid nanny laws the states invent
What do you think?
Also, I am against using a hand to spank with. Hand is for loving, “tools” such as a belt, paddle, etc are for spanking. Using a hand will cause the child to fear the your hand, so it is actually counter-productive.
