Can someone die from drugs(not overdose)?
Question by TheTargaryen: Can someone die from drugs(not overdose)?
I am researching something and I was wondering if someone who is using a drug for about a year, can he destroy his health and have sympthoms like he is having aids? Is it possible? I mean if someone is on crystal meth and heroin for a long time, can he that way completely ruin his immune system and his health so he dies like he has aids?
Im not talking about overdose
But can drugs make you look exactly like you have aids( destroy your immune system and then it looks like you got aids) and then you get pneumonia and die from it, and doctors say you died from aids?

You can die from sharing needles and stuff, and you can die from other reasons associated with drugs like developing an imbalance due to addiction. Drugs can destroy your immune system as well, but you can’t just die from drugs in a non-overdose situation.

“Long-term effects of Crystal Meth use can include brain damage (similar to the effects of Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s disease), coma, stroke or death. Chronic users may also develop distinct physical symptoms, as demonstrated by before and after pictures in the Faces of Meth™ program. Signs of chronic use include weight loss, tooth decay and cracked teeth (“Meth Mouth”), psychosis and hallucinations, sores on the body from picking at skin, and formication (an abnormal skin sensation akin to “bugs crawling on skin”).
“Long-term effects of heroin appear after repeated use for some period of time. Chronic users may develop collapsed veins, infection of the heart lining and valves, abscesses, cellulites, and liver disease. Pulmonary complications, including various types of pneumonia, may result from the poor health condition of the abuser, as well as from heroin’s depressing effects on respiration. In addition to the effects of the drug itself, street heroin may have additives that do not really dissolve and result in clogging the blood vessels that lead to the lungs, liver, kidneys, or brain. This can cause infection or even death of small patches of cells in vital organs. With regular heroin use, tolerance develops. This means the abuser must use more heroin to achieve the same intensity or effect.”
