Can past drug use ruin your chance at a top secret clearance?
Question by Big E: Can past drug use ruin your chance at a top secret clearance?
Well….between the ages of 13 and 17 i was involved with habitual drug use, i experimented with almost any drug i could get my hands on. i smoked pot on a daily basis. or whenever i could. i did ecstasy several times. cocaine a few times. meth once, acid like two or three times.xnanex, never did crack or heroin. this was a dark part in my life, before my 18th birthday i started to realize what i was doing to myself and stopped hard drug use.shortly after i turned 18 i quit smoking pot, with a few hiccups here and there it was a total turn around i mean it was maybe once or twice a year, the last time i smoked pot was about 5-8 months before i joined the army. now im trying to reenlist for a new job and i need a ts. i have a secret already will this help? have anyone of you been through the interview process? the drug use was Extreme i know but, drugs and alcohol were a normal thing around my family, my teenage years wasn’t the norm but that was a long and difficult time ago. i never got into trouble with the law, i always kept my hed low. i was a troubled teen down the wrong path i changed my life around for the better im a soldier now i have a wife and a baby girl on the way. do they account this stuff? or does it automatically deni me right off the bat. any help would be awesome, and greatly appreciated!!!! thanks again!!
