Question by Marie: Can I ask my doctor to prescibe me methadone for my opiate addiction?
I was taking Suboxone but I had a terrible reaction that made me so ill I HAD to stop taking them. I did not take them too early so it wasn’t because I was being thrown into a withdrawl. I’m seeing a new psychiatrist tommorow and was wondering if I should ask him about Methadone. Can doctors prescribe it in IL for addiction? Do you think he will just think I’m trying to make and excuse to get prescribed methadone? Is it possible my Suboone dosage was just off and that’s why I got sick? I’m just really nervous about the appointment so any help on the topic would be appriciated.

You should probably enroll in a drug rehab program to help with your addiction.
