Question by R: Can a nurse lose her license if she goes to rehab?
I’m trying to help a friend who is addicted to cocaine. She is a nurse, but as far as what she tells me, she never has worked under the influence. She is worried that if she goes to a rehab she will lose her license. I thought the privacy act would protect her. Please cite a source (so that I can show her) proof that she would not lose her license.
I looked on the http://www.hhs.gov/ site, but I cannot find anything specific.

I cant quote a source, but I am pretty sure HIPPA will protect her. Google HIPPA laws.
