Britney Spears hospitalized

Hello, I’m Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Friday, January 4, 2008. Britney Spears is in the hospital this morning after police responded to a call at her house. Officials say they were called to her house last night regarding a “custodial dispute.” Spears apparently had her two sons at her home, when they were supposed to be with her ex Kevin Federline. Police say she was under the influence of some substance and was taken to the hospital to be evaluated. Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer says she’s back on track with her sobriety after a minor slip-up. A video of the young star drinking champagne in Italy on New Years has been circulating on the internet. But her attorney assures fans that she stopped herself, and called her sponsor. Lohan checked out of a Utah rehab facility in October after spending a couple months there. Mary J. Blige’s new album “Growing Pains” is topping the charts. It grabbed the number one spot on the Billboard album chart this week. Alicia Keys held on to her spot at number two with her release “As I am.” And longtime chart leader Josh Groban’s holiday album “Noel” took third after 5 consecutive weeks in the top spot. Eddie Murphy and Tracie Edmonds will soon have wedding number 2. The pair, who tied the knot on an island off of Bora Bora on New Years, will now have a legal wedding in the states.
