BP Promotes “Breast Cancer Awareness” at Gas Stations on NJ’s 2 Busy Corridors

BP Station owners hosts Cancer Foundation Fundraiser

Cherry Hill, NJ (PRWEB) October 14, 2010

Two major BP gas stations along New Jersey’s two heavily-trafficked corridors in the Cherry Hill area have begun sporting colorful pink “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” banners during October to promote the cause and raise needed funds for a local Foundation that supplies free wigs for men, women and children Cancer patients.

“We’re delighted to help with our resources and loyal customer base with their noble mission,” said Frank MacWilliams, operator of the two stations and speaking on behalf of its’ parent owner, ARFA Oil, of Pennsauken, New Jersey. The stations are located on Route 73 south in Maple Shade and Route 130 North in Delran, NJ.

Mr. MacWilliams identified the local charity as “The Cancer Foundation for Personal Appearance, Inc.” of Cherry Hill, which has benefited previously from fund-raising endeavors with both BP and Lukoil franchise owners.

All during October, station attendants have been passing out small promotional pink mint candies with a small donation card and info about the Cherry Hill Cancer Foundation. That charity, in the past, gave away more than 450 free wigs to patients undergoing Chemotherapy and drug treatments for Cancer.

“This is a great help for the Foundation and a lift for BP who has suffered some unfortunate public perception during the past year,” said Joseph Minniti, Foundation founder and Executive Director of the 501 (C)-3 charity which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year.

Minniti had high praise for both BP and ARFA companies for continued support of the Cancer Foundation’s mission and helping to fund its continuation as another healthcare asset for the entire Delaware Valley community.

Mr. MacWilliams personalized the station’s efforts by displaying signs at the two gas stations noting that he was engaging in the fund-raising effort “In Memory of My Wife, Janis,” who died from Cancer in December, 2009.

The Cancer Foundation for Personal Appearance, Inc. is located at 905 W. Marlton Pike in Cherry Hill. Telephone is 856-427-4009.
