Blanchet Capital Campaign
The Blanchet House of Hospitality is a private non-profit social service agency that serves three free hot meals each day, six days a week, to the homeless, low-income, and working poor of Northwest Portland. Not only is Blanchet the largest meal site in the city of Portland, according to the Oregon Food Bank, it also offers transitional housing for men looking for a clean and sober living environment. In exchange for room and board, these 29 men perform duties such as managers, cooks, drivers, floor supervisors, and night watchman. Since Blanchet first opened its doors on February 7, 1952, over 14000000 meals have been served and some 4000 men have called Blanchet their home.
