Besides drug addiction, what kind of other ailments or treatments is it used for?

I had a student that was trying to get a D.O.T. medical card, and was having problems because he had been on methadone for a long time unrelated to drug use.
I don’t think heaven k understood the question. sounds like she’s on drugs!!
