Are we allowed by the license to use Yahoo Messenger at work?

Question by pro.lestat: Are we allowed by the license to use Yahoo Messenger at work?
I work for a small firm in Bucharest, Romania, and our IT guy said that we are not allowed to use the Yahoo Messenger client since we don’t have a license for it, and that we should use the web messenger if we want to. He claims that another firm here in Romania was fined for using YM. I don’t think this is true. I have read the TOS but it doesn’t say for a fact: “You may use YM client at work, since this is free software”. Please advise.

You don’t have to use it but if you don’t want to take risks, don’t risk it. Most likely you could use it though.. I may be wrong.
